I'm stopping by to say hello, get my name in for that contest (I mean, who wouldn't want a fully decorated Xmas tree?) and also indulge in a little promotion....

March 2009, Harlequin Intrigue: MULTIPLES MYSTERY, Alice Sharpe

To a cold pot add: one set of newborn quadruplets, one brand new mother with raging hormones and one missing husband whose sordid past is about to endanger them all. Add a generous hunk of steely eyed determination in the form of a dashing sheriff who's been in love with the mother for years and will do anything to protect her and her babies. Stir in three ruthless thugs with murder on their minds. Sprinkle liberally with the spirit of a small town. Screw the lid down tight, add heat, adjust pressure, step back and watch the sparks (and bullets) fly.

Thanks, Genene, for the opportunity to promote this book.

Oooooh, Alice, definitely sounds intriguing!

And exhausting! I mean, four babies? Ah-yi-yi! And that's just the beginning!

Thanks for stopping by. This book is definitely on my must-read list!

Ho, ho, ho! Merry almost Christmas!

It's noon PST--or thereabouts--what does time mean to me? At least until Christmas Eve when I visit every household in the world in less than 24 hours.

But I digress! Our blog host, Genene, has asked me if I would double-check the answers from everyone who entered the "match the authors with the facts" contest. Now, since my naughty and nice list has been recreated, I know these authors pretty well, I must say.

We'll be back at 1:00 p.m. to announce the winner of today's first contest. Those guest authors have donated some nice prizes! Books and chocolate and bells...

Hmm...think the winner would spare some chocolate for me? Ho, ho, ho!

I think it is really nice that you are donated some of the proceeds. :-)

I am stopping by to enter the contest of course, although I shouldn't do it since I won the bonus contest and one of the daily contests but heck, I say... why not. I have enjoyed meeting so many wonderful authors, adding so many new books to my "to read" list and learning new things each day. Thank you all so much, especially you Genene, for helping out the authors and introducing so many of us to each other.

As yet I don't have a project to publicize, but I keep working and I trust that someday I, too, will be telling the world about my newest work.

Merry Christmas to all. My cup runneth over.

Genene,
Don't know if I'm too late to join the party, but did just want to stop in and say hi.

You are so lucky, Genene, to be able to donate your hair that often. It's why I'm growing my hair; unfortunately, it's taken me years to get it long enough. Once I cut it, that'll be it. I've been blessed so far that at 45, my hair is still dark (Cajun gene). So I have not cut it yet trying to get more length in to give away and not have such a drastic change when I do.

One of our dogs, a Wheaton Terrier, was from the pound. I happened to say one Saturday on our way to Home Depot, "Why don't we stop at the pound?" My son, who loves cats, immediately agreed. My husband, who is adamant about 'no more animal' actually said yes that day.

When we got there, a guy with a cowboy hat was sitting there with a dog on its leash. My husband stopped and chatted with him a few minutes. My son went to look at the cats; I went to the big labs, etc. All of a sudden, we realized the man had left, but his dog was still tied up. My husband, a self-admitted computer nerd, said the man had told him the dog was bad because it had peed on his wife's laptop. The pound had a different story.

Cowboy had come in the weekend before asking the pound to euthanize it because he just didn't want it. they convinced him to come back the following weekend. My husband felt sorry for the abandoned dog. The lady at the pound, sharply observing my son's interest in the cats, said that she'd throw in a free cat if we took the dog because they didn't have room for it.

My hubby agreed. When they tried to give Terri (terrified terrier/aka terrible terrier) her shot, they couldn't find any fat underneath all her matted fur. She was skin and bones. We went home with a dog and cat to add to our menagerie.

What was sad at first was that the person who loved her the most, my husband, was the one she was most terrified of. She now loves him more than anyone, though she follows me around everywhere i go in the house, even if I'm just getting up for a minute to run to the kitchen.

There's Terri's story. Gotta run off again. Hubby work has a company party tonight.

Genene, wanted to say it here to encourage others, I went ahead and ordered an autographed copy of Feathers for my very own. I wanted to get in on your donation to shelter deal and get a good read -- it's a win, win!

Thanks!

Hi, Traveler! I have been having a blast with the contests also!

Kudos to you for choosing a shelter animal. I adore all of mine!

Hey, Diane! So glad you stopped by!

Thanks for your kind wishes and give your former shelter fur baby a cuddle from me!

Hi, Wanda! You've given so much to others, that tossing your name in the hat one more time is just fine! And you had to work for the Bonus Contest. :)

Genene Valleau, writing as Genie Gabriel said...

And, Wanda, keep working at your writing! It's been less than a year since my first book was published, then I sold two more in short order. My cup also runneth over!!

Hi, Julie! Not too late--the party is still going!

I've donated my hair to Locks of Love four or five times--isn't it weird that I can't remember exactly? They need ten inches--which means my hair is almost to my waist when I get it cut.

The first time I did it, it was more traumatic for my stylist than me. I already knew what I was going to do, but she had only known me with longer hair. She kept asking are you sure? Then waited with her breath held for my reaction after she cut it. The short style was delightful!

Now we have fun with it and take before and after pictures as a way to suggest this to others. It takes about two years to grow the ten inches that Locks of Love needs. But I have wash and wear hair, so it's easy to grow. Plus I get styles from short to long and don't have to fuss with me hair. That's a bonus!

Hugs to you and your former shelter animals, Julie! It's an unfortunate fact that many shelter animals haven't been well treated by former owners, and most of the time it's men they are most frightened of. However, it's also the adoptive men owners who spoil them the most. :)

Your Terri is lucky! And enjoy your party tonight!

Alice, as always, you are a sweetheart to give shelter animals and my book a plug. And I so much appreciate you buying a copy of FEATHERS ON THE FLOOR!
